How to Use MillyDesign: Design a Whole Room in a Few Clicks

MillyDesign builds a complete room for you from pieces we have in stock, with matching tables, rugs, lamps and wall art, so it all goes together. You tell it what you like, and it does the planning. Here is how it works, step by step.

Step 1: Open MillyDesign

Choose MillyDesign in the main menu, or go straight to the MillyDesign page. The planner is on the left, and your finished room appears on the right.

Step 2: Choose your room

Pick Living room or Bedroom.

Step 3: Pick your style

Choose the look you like: Farmhouse, Coastal, Modern, Glam, Industrial, Traditional, Transitional or Boho. You can choose more than one, and tap a choice again to turn it off.

Step 4: Choose colors you love

Select as many as you like from Warm neutrals, Cool grays, Black & white, Blues, Greens, Earth tones, Gold accents and Bold color.

Step 5: Set your budget

Drag the slider to the amount you want to spend on the room, anywhere from $500 to $8,000. MillyDesign designs around this number.

Step 6: Tell it which pieces you need

Turn on the pieces you want. For a living room these include a coffee table, end tables, a sofa or console table, a TV stand, an area rug, table lamps, a floor lamp, wall art, a mirror, accent pillows and a throw. Some are switched on to get you started, so tap any piece to add it or take it off.

Step 7: Add anything else (optional)

Use the Anything else? box to add details that matter to you. You can also add a photo of your room if you like. Photos need to be under 4 MB.

Step 8: Press Design my room

Tap Design my room. It can take up to a minute to put your room together, so give it a moment.

Step 9: Review your look

You will see your room's name and a short description, a color palette, the room total, and how the number of pieces compares with your budget. Below that, every piece appears as a card with its photo, grouped by type.

Step 10: Fine-tune it, then add it to your cart

Want a change? Type it into the Change something box, for example "lighter rug", "add more blue" or "under $2,000", and choose Update. When you love it, press Add the whole room to cart.

• Choose two styles and two or three colors to give MillyDesign room to be creative without getting scattered.
• Be honest about your budget. You can always adjust it and press Design my room again.
